Maharashtra government has issued a notification allowing a day’s paid leave for voters in Gujarat working in the border

MUMBAI: The Maharashtra government has issued a notification allowing a day’s paid leave for voters in Gujarat working in the border districts of the state to facilitate voting in the upcoming Gujarat assembly elections, an official said on Tuesday.

Assembly elections in Gujarat will be held in two phases on December 1 and 5. According to a notification issued by the state industries, energy and labor department, the decision is applicable to all government, private, semi-private companies, institutions.

Voters of Gujarat working in Maharashtra can get one day leave with pay to exercise their rights in the upcoming elections in the neighboring state, the notification said.

This concession is given to voters of Gujarat working in border districts like Nashik, Palghar, Dhule and Nandurbar.
