Karnataka Assembly elections: Total Rs 305 crores Seized in the state

BENGALURU: Ever since the Model Code of Conduct for Karnataka State Assembly Elections came into force till date, all the teams including the Intelligence Squad, Fixed Surveillance Teams, Police and Income Tax Officers have seized total of Rs.305 crores, The Election Commission said on Sunday that they have seized Rs.305 crores worth of cash including liquor, drugs etc.

110 crores in cash, 74 crores Rs. Liquor worth Rs.81 crores.Gold ornaments worth Rs. 22 crore worth of freebies, gift items, Rs 18 crore. The State Chief Electoral Officer’s office has informed that valuable drugs have been seized. More than 2,346 FIRs have been registered in connection with the cases taken into custody.

Officials said that a total of Rs 58 crore was seized between March 9 and 27 before the May 10 assembly election date was announced.
