BENGALURU: The Congress on Sunday continued its ‘padayatra’ from Ramanagara, requesting execution of the Mekedatu project across the stream Cauvery. Party pioneers and laborers recited trademarks as they set out on the padayatra, which they had been compelled to leave on January 13, subsequent to being pulled up by the courts over worries of Covid-19 spread.

Driven by Congress state president D K Shivakumar and Opposition Leader Siddaramaiah, the five-day padayatra with the subject ‘Namma Neeru, Namma Hakku‘ (Our Water, Our Right) will come full circle at the National College Grounds in Basavanagudi in Bengaluru on March 3, in the wake of covering a distance of 79.8km.
